| The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) provides access to essential health care services for people who are low-income, uninsured or who live in rural areas or urban neighborhoods where health care is scare. HRSA-funded health centers provide medical care to more than 13 million patients each year at more than 3,600 sites nationwide. HRSA administers a variety of programs to improve the health of mothers and children and serves people living with HIV/AIDS through the Ryan White CARE Act programs. HRSA also oversees the nation's organ transplantation system. |

| The Indian Health Service (IHS), working with tribes, provides health services to 1.6 million American Indians and Alaska Natives of more than 550 federally recognized tribes. The Indian health system includes 49 hospitals, 236 health centers, 309 health stations, satellite clincs and Alaska Native village clinics, and 34 urban Indian health centers.
